Long route with over 750m of climbing & only two possible escape routes. You start from the large car park half way up to the Passo Gardena from Corvara. The route itself starts 100m from the car park with a short initial section. A 10 minute walk brings you to the main part of the route. Here you climb up the face & along a small ridge into a large bowl with a waterfall. The route then goes straight up the side of the tower with some excellent views before going up some ladders to a bridge across a chasm. A short walk now takes you to the Rifugio & a well earned beer!

One of the most popular routes in the Dolomites & the queues can be seen for miles but definatley worth the trip. If you can start later in the day (11ish) & let the queues get a head start do, but beware of the afternoon thunderstorms if you do!

We did the Tridentina in early September and it was far less busy than in the main season, but still with enough decent weather (brilliant sunshine in our case). Watch out for the Italian Army though, who tend to use these quieter months to train new recruits into their Alpine divisions.
